A little History about the Friday the 13th Motorcycle Meetup.

The Friday the 13 Motorcycle Rally was inaugurated in Port Dover, Ontario, Canada back in 1981. A Motorcycle Rally is held every Friday the 13th throughout the year with approximately 100, 000 bikers lining the shores of Lake Erie.

Years ago, before the world embarked on its drug induced trip into apocalyptic stupidity, Dawn decided it would be great fun to emulate this event in Tacoma inviting not just Motorcycles to attend but to include all two wheeled motorized vehicles of conveyance including but not limited to Scooters of the combustion engine variety. Since 2016, Dawn organized this event on every Friday the 13th, whether it was the frozen wasteland of winter or the unpredictability of summer with just a little help from the Firkin Scooter Club. We thought this would be a most apropos occasion to Celebrate the wonderful life and influence Dawn had on a great many us.

Unless your 50cc hauls ass this ride is probably not 50cc friendly. Please arrive at the meet up with at least a half tank of fuel. We will make one fuel stop in the town of Rainier. We will be making a brewery/cidery/bakery stop towards the end of the route and will end up the ride at Prairie Lanes, 202 E Yelm Ave, Yelm, WA 98597 for bowling. Afterwards we will make a plan for dinner and work our way to our house in Yelm, WA 98597. We will have a bonfire and Kevin will be playing some music for us throughout the evening. Everyone is encouraged to stay the night either at our house/property or at the hotel in town. It’s Madness. No, not that Madness. But, come down to “Our House”, this Sunday, March 6, 2022 where only insanity in the Scooter cosmos prevails. A constellation of rides and events are emerging from the grey floatsam of the first part of the year. Enjoy a wee tipple of nefarious brew and maybe a greasy gastro accompaniment while practicing the art of social interaction as we emerge from our hibernation. New potential members welcome to attend. Remember, drown Russia with your drama…

Meet: Alfred’s Café, 402 Puyallup Ave, Tacoma, WA 98421

Monthly Club Ride, January 30, 2022

What: Shaun’s Annual Rubbish Ride

When: Sunday, January 30, 2022. Meet at 10:15 AM, Poot at 11:30 AM

Meet: Rock the Dock, 535 Dock St #118, Tacoma, WA 98402

As the title suggests, this will be rubbish. Due to the usual unpredictable and inhospitable nature of January, there will probably only be an hour, if that, of riding navigating the lesser traveled byways of Tacoma ending at a suitable stop for adult Pop. This is a rare 50 cc friendly excursion. If you don’t want to ride but would like to gather at the endpoint, contact me privately for the location…
